Matthew 5:38-42, Eye for an Eye
I love how some Christians actually use ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth’ as justification for revenge, even today when Jesus was pretty clear that we are called to be above petty retaliation.
Still others use this to justify abuse and enabling behavior. I’m pretty confident that Jesus was not condoning either, rather vengeance is a matter of the heart.
Let it go. Make peace. Forgive. Extend Grace. Be an Image Bearer.
