Matthew 11:1-30, John the Baptist and Woes
John introduced Jesus to the world, but then began to doubt. Jesus was not what anyone expected in a Messiah.
These teachings in chapter 11 don’t meet our expectations of Jesus either. Jesus offered blessing before repentance and when repentance never came… woe! I do think we need to remember that whether a city or a person is repentant is not for us to judge.
After this series of teachings Jesus invited the weary to Him to find rest, which is maybe a segue from how hard it is to follow to Him into the peace found when we do.
